Getting better all the Time

Imagine my disappointment when I returned from Tannehill, exhausted, with no memory left on my camera's memory stick, and none of my pictures yet looked professional. I mean, I've had TWO classes, shouldn't I be perfect now? I am improving, although it's easy to take pics of such a beautiful subject. Here are some samples. I am planning to charge $40/session to take Christmas pics for folks, starting in October. (after I finish the class and practice some more) Let me know what date you'd like :)

We're back!

So sorry for the delay in blog posts! I am an extreme overcommiter and haven't had a free night in the last 2 weeks!! Ridiculous. It's under control now.

The last 2 weeks have been fun. Pierce is crawling all over the house now, she's pulling up to standing on anything she can and we've ALMOST got sleeping through the night down. Last night she woke just for 5 mins. WOO-HOO! We've met new people... my dear wonderful friend Taylor came to stay with us this week and brought her 3.5-yr-old, Lanie, and her 10 month old, Gaddis. I had never met either of her kids and it was absolutely the best thing I've done in a long time to get to spend time with her and them. (I'm tearing up writing this. What a spaz.)

I am taking a photography class and am pretty much obsessed with taking pictures. Pierce gets excited when she sees my face instead of a camera perched atop my neck. Here are some of my photos from the class, along with some regular old pics.

Yard time with Bana and cousin Isaac

Notice the pj's say "I heart ducks." So, silly me did a pose.

"Auntie" Trisha gave her this book and she LOVES it.

The Killian Kids

The rest were taken with my new fancy camera and new fancy knowledge from my photog class.

Photography

I'm taking a photography class and our only instructions thus far are "shoot." Take lots of pics and enjoy using the auto setting because it's the last time we'll be allowed. So, I think I used the wrong film because my pictures are REALLY grainy when viewed on a high res program, but I was still really proud of these 4. I can't decide which I like best!!

Melancholy Milestones

I know that the alternative to achieving milestones is not good in anyway. But, while milestones are exciting for me, they also make me sad. Little baby Pierce is growing each day. I got teary today thinking about how I used to rub her little knuckles while she ate and now her little chubby hands are hardly still enough to find the knuckles. She has been on the verge of crawling now for a few weeks and today it happened. She had done a little bit here and there, but today she saw a bug on the floor and quickly made it across the room to retrieve this tiny treasure. It continued on the pool deck and even in the bathtub. She was asleep tonight before I even got her in the bed! She has also had it with the beloved bumbo (thanks Sarah!) So we bought a little booster seat/high chair. She's loving it! The tray lets her try ever-so hard to get those cheerios in her mouth. Featured in this entry is the BEAUTIFUL friend in the mirror.

Kisses for her friend

Plumb wore out!

Heaven is the Lake

It was really hard to choose pics for this entry because there were SO many good ones AND the lake is my most favorite place in the world. The saddest week of my year is usually the one after 4th of July, when normal life resumes. We had the WHOLE family there... George, Brittany and Clancy from NYC and Hagen from ATL! Here is a pic of Pierce's 1st boat ride, first Fiddler's Jamboree, 1st everything lake!! And her driving us off at the end ;)
